A veritable visual feast

   With the burgeoning spread of the digital screens for reading, the hardcovers and the paperbacks have taken a back seat and are slowly becoming things of the past. Unmistakably, though there is a certain thrill holding a book in your hands. As they say, ‘ between the pages of a book, is a wonderful place to be.’

   Zeroing in on the feel of holding a hardback and a paperback and the pleasures of reading, Ahmedabad based sculptor made as many as 1000 sculptures of various sizes and held a show at the mod 079 gallery in Ahmedabad recently.

  She named the show as ‘Safar kitabo ka’ (journey of the books) where there were installations of 600 miniature sculptures of readers in various postures in a variety of colours and expressions.
