Myths in dentistry

   Beliefs for long have ruled the minds of the people and some beliefs are carried over generations without them being analyzed. Such beliefs are the myths that are adhered to or practiced without any scientific basis. Though there is a borderline difference between the fact and the myth the consequence of believing either has a great impact on one’s life. There are several myths in medical and Dental fields; myths arise due to traditional beliefs or non-scientific knowledge. Certain myths in dentistry that can be named are:

* Milk teeth are not as important as they are shed away and any way the permanent teeth erupt. False. Milk teeth are important.
