India’s long drawn fight for freedom from the alien rule has been a legend of heroism. The scuffle was not merely for political power, but for freedom from fear and oppression in all walks of life. The utmost sacrifice and selfless spirit of our freedom fighters have carved out a niche in the chronicles of history. Yet there are a large number of dedicated, selfless social activists whose contribution could not find due acclamation. The fabric of India’s freedom struggle is incomplete without these unsung heroes. Mahadev Desai is one among them.
