Need to Boost Organ Donation

   In the context of an ever increasing number of people with a variety of disorders waiting for the vital human organs for transplantation, the global campaign to popularise organ donation has assumed a vigorous dimension. And it is in the fitness of things that August 13 has been declared the World Organ Donation day with the objective of creating awareness among the people of the vital importance of organs in saving the lives of others. Thanks to the rapid advances in medical technology and health care science, a variety of organs extracted from cadavers could give a new lease of life to the patients suffering from disorders related to the inability of organs to function properly. Eye, liver, kidney and heart are some of the organs that can be transplanted if the body parts extracted from cadavers are properly preserved and transported for transplantation within stipulated time frame.
