Dental Cavities

   Everyone would have experienced tooth pain once in their life time and they describe it to be a horrible experience. Even an adult would behave as a child unable to bear the intolerable pain. Tooth pain is a common result of tooth decay. Cavity or tooth decay can affect a single tooth or can affect multiple teeth.

   Cavity is caused due the bacterial attack on the tooth, the food lodged between the teeth act as site where the bacteria can grow, these bacteria then produce acids, and these acids then demineralize the tooth structure causing cavity or decay. A cavity appears as a black spot on the tooth structure and can occur on any part of the tooth. The symptoms and intensity of pain depends on the level at which a tooth is attacked by the bacteria. The teeth are comprised of various layers and are not just a single mass. A tooth has two portions the crown and the root portion.
