Swimming against the current

    We tend to spot a fence post that hasn’t been evenly spaced with all the others. Thus, we enjoy our perception of normality and find any abnormality unsettling. The assumption that those with disabilities are lesser beings and are somehow less than us is to grossly misunderstand what disabilities are.

     Disability doesn’t apply to a person but a set of challenges that the person faces while interacting with social and physical environments. Persons with disabilities learn to live with those challenges and get adapted through sheer hard work and the help of technology, adaptations and specialist services, to live a full life.

Isn’t that so, eh?
