“Challenges are inevitable, defeat is optional”

  Challenges and misfortunes are a part and parcel of every human being’s life. It’s how one overcomes these adversities that makes all the difference. Many of us accept our defeat and try to give up or accept it as fate. But there are some resilient people who win over these difficulties and inspire us by setting an example.

  The story of the mountaineer Arunima Sinha who became the world’s first female amputee to reach the summit of Mount Everest motivates us to “live for what tomorrow has to offer and not for what yesterday has taken away”.

  The life of Arunima Sinha was like any other ordinary girl who had a strong desire to join the paramilitary forces. She was national level volleyball player. Her life had seen the other side of the coin of 12th April 2011, when she boarded the Padmavati Express train for Delhi, as she had received a call letter from CISF (Central Industrial Security Force).
