Charlie Chaplin The Greatest Comic Artist of the Screen

     As the Tramp clumsily begins to move away, the girl comes to the shop door and again offers the flower. He accepts it shyly. Taking his hand, she presses the coin into it, stops suddenly, her smile giving way to bewilderment. She runs her fingers along his arm and shoulder and gasps, "You?"

   The Tramp nods and asks, "You can see now?" The girl replies, "Yes, I can see now", and puts his hand to her heart with a tearful smile. Relieved and elated, the Tramp smiles back.

    The Tramp in the silent movie, Citylights is none other than Charlie Chaplin, the greatest comedian in motion-picture. He was the composer of the music in the film which was the only sound in the silent movie.

    Sir Charles Spencer Chaplin was born on April 16, 1889 in London. Being his father's namesake, he made his stage debut at the age of five after his parents separated. Charles Chaplin Sr.....
