Here’s a list of some not-so-common professions: One who stuffs and mounts the skins of animals to give them a lifelike appearance –taxidermist. One who sells wine – vintner. One who studies fossils – palaeontologist. One who explores and studies caves – spelunker. Practitioner of a system of treating bodily disorders by manipulating the spine –chiropractor. A person who writes dictionaries – lexicographer. A person who treats minor foot complaints – chiropodist.

An exceptional person who combines two contradictory interests – rare bird. Someone who never stays long in the same place – bird of passage. A person in prison – jail-bird.
