Around the world and back home in 254 days An all-female sailing team completed an amazing feat and inspired millions of Indians

     There is no denying the fact that women were oppressed for a long time in patriarchal societies. But, women have overcome the restrictions placed upon them and gone on to achieve amazing feats. Today, they have no qualms in taking on daunting challenges and proving that they are no less than their counterparts, be it national or international. We are only pleased to share with you about 6 more amazing Indian women.

   Imagine travelling the world on a boat, battling giant waves, 60-knot winds and the ocean for 254 days. That’s exactly what members of the Navika Sagar Parikrama expedition did. After more than 21,600 nautical miles, six naval officers aboard the INSV Tarini just became the first-ever Indian circumnavigation of the globe by an all-women crew.

   The crew — Lt. Cdrs. Pratibha Jamwal and Swati P, and Lts. Aishwarya Boddapati, S. Vijaya Devi and Payal Gupta, led by Lt. Cdr. Vartika Joshi — left....
