In February of 2010, after a month of almost non-stop rowing, Katie Spotz was exhausted, wondering how she could continue. More than 1500 miles remained in her attempt to become the youngest person to row solo across the Atlantic Ocean. How did a young woman of 22 find herself alone in the middle of an ocean?      In this edition of GV, we are pleased to share about Katie Spotz, an American adventurer who became the youngest person to row solo across the Atlantic Ocean, departing from Dakar, Senegal on January 3, 2010, and landing in Guyana on March 14, 2010. She was the first person to have swum the entire length of the Allegheny River in New York state and Pennsylvania.
