Corruption and its ill effects

   ‘ Corruption’ is a common phenomenon in our society and is synonymous with manipulation, subversion or misrepresentation. We read about corruption in newspapers and magazines and also view on television and other media. But the term has become invisible because the word ‘corruption’ as such is not mentioned when some wrong things happen in the society. Rather it is popularly called bribe, scam, unaccounted money, etc. As the saying “small drops of water make an ocean”, likewise the acts such as bribe, scams, etc., contribute to the term “corruption”. So corruption has a broader meaning rather than a narrow one.

What is Corruption?

    Corruption is fraudulent or dishonest conduct by people in power, typically involving bribery. It is the abuse of bestowed power or position to acquire a personal benefit. Long back corruption was related only with politics, but in today’s world corruption....
