Stop and smell the roses

     I was reading a blog on death bed regrets as compiled by a nurse who worked in palliative care for several years. The author of the blog was sceptical about the genuineness of the narratives and there were valid reasons for his scepticism.

   There were five major death bed regrets listed in the blog:

1. I wish I had the courage to live a life true to myself.

2. I wish I hadn’t worked so hard.

3. I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends.

4. I wish I had the courage to express my feelings.

5. I wish I had let myself be happier.

  This triggered a thought wave. Why wait till you are in death bed to survey your past life when you yourself can do nothing about the future to make amends or changes? You may express regrets about the past. But it does not help. Why not do it now, while there is still time to change your outlook, your habits, your perspectives, your....
