Stuck in the dark belly of the pandemic, the academic world too is faced with a momentous change like everything else. And it is important to ensure that the sudden shift to a new educational paradigm does not get the students disoriented and unmoored from the institution.

   How do we engage and retain students in a Brave New World when physical campuses have closed down and we have moved to remote learning? This gets more crucial in case of differently-abled school-going students. So, it becomes paramount for faculty and administrators to reach out to the students and talk to them on a human level.

   It is heartening to know that a local authority in Ahmedabad, namely, Ahmedabad municipal corporation devised a plan and has been reaching out to the differently-abled students of its schools in order to keep them moored with learning and also care for them through engaging special educators.
