The growing awareness about adulterated foods among consumers has increased the importance of quality certification of agricultural products. AGMARK, the quality certification given for purity and quality of agricultural products is the cheapest certification for agricultural commodities available in the country.
This certification assures conformity to a set of standards approved by the government agency Directorate of Marketing and attached to the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare under the provisions of Agricultural Produce (Grading and Marking) Act, 1937.
The AGMARK Act empowers the Central Government to make Rules for
