Wheelchair Basketball Federation of India (WBFI) is a Chennai-based sports federation affiliated to International Wheelchair Basketball Federation (IWBF). It strives to educate the society on Paralympic sports and ensures extensive participation in wheelchair basketball as a competitive sport in India.

   It has trained over 650 persons with disabilities and helped nurture strong state and national level wheelchair basketball teams in the country. WBFI is the brainchild of Madhavi Latha, WBFI President. She had Wheelchair Basketball Federation of India An exceptional step towards inclusion been recommended by doctors to undergo a spinal surgery to avoid lethal muscle deterioration caused by post-polio syndrome (PPS). She came to know of the rehabilitative power of parasports through aquatherapy and went on to win three gold medals in the 2011 National Paralympic Swimming Championship.
