This wonderful year (not literally), has seen the rise of a new adversary to mankind. The COVID-19 pandemic has transformed the way we live, our outlook on everything, and has proven to be both boon and bane for us in many ways.
The surging wave of the pandemic has forced the whole globe to lock themselves down and into their homes. Though the lockdowns did its part in containing the spread of the disease quite well, it had a very adverse impact upon our economy. As of today, India has seen a very sharp, substantial and shocking decline in the GDP which amounts to a massive 23.9% in the April-June quarter.
To be frank, our country’s economy was already seeing a series of slowdowns due to the haphazard implementation of demonetisation and GST. I do agree that these changes were indeed revolutionary and remarkable, but their implementation was not all that smooth and glossy as we wanted.
