Raspberry is a nutritious fruit of the genus Rubus (family Rosaceae); are commonly known as Hill raspberry, Snow peaks, Huftoo; at different part of the world. Raspberry fruit and leaf have also been used as medicine for centuries, its juice is also used for paintings and illuminating manuscripts.

   The therapeutic use of raspberry leaf was first described in 1597 in the book The Herbal or A General History of Plants. The red raspberry is a unique berry with a rich history that dates back to the first century when the fruits were gathered from the wild by the people of Troy in the foothills of Mount Ida.

    Records of domestication were found in the fourth century writings of the Roman agriculturalist Palladius, and seeds have been discovered at Roman forts.
