The importance of voting

    We must vote to bring into power good governments and keep bad politicians away from power. We must vote for the right persons because the country’s future of 130 crore population lies in their hands. We should also be selfless in our action of votingfor the general well-being of the nation. In colonial countries and countries where dictators or kings are ruling, people cannot elect their own leaders.

   Further in certain countries, voting would be a privilege for only a section of people and women and lower category of people cannot have the right of voting. In India too, when kings and the British were ruling our country, we could not elect our own leaders. We know the value of freedom and democracy as Indians struggled against British rule for several years for our freedom and we have the right to vote because of them. Exercising our right to vote upholds what our freedom fighters envisioned for India.....
