Blunders at world stage

   History is full of business blunders and near misses. When the decisions made by business leaders don’t come off as planned, this results in the leaders not only losing face, but causes concerned companies or organizations losses in the higher regions of many millions, if not billions. Following is a list of some of the most impactful yet egregious business decisions of all time:

The guy who invented the oil drill, but doesn’t patent it

   Edwin Drake was hired by an oil company in 1858 to investigate an oil spring in Titusville Pennsylvania, and when he had difficulty reaching the oil he devised an ingenious pipe and drill system that allowed him to dig down to the oil without contaminating it. Drake didn’t get a patent on his invention; however, people in the local area started following his method and made money.
