With burgeoning tribe of upwardly mobile youths from middle classes, parents have now to contend with altogether a new phenomenon. That is when their sons or daughters leave their parental homes for studies or seek greener pastures elsewhere for better job opportunities.
The void, that is. The sense of loss that follows could be unbearable unless they learn to cope with it. This was precisely the theme that Kunika Kharat, 25, chose for her short film called Saad that bagged the first prize in the Student Short Film category at the recently held 4th edition of the All Lights India International Film Festival (ALIIF) held in December, 2018 in Hyderabad. The festival is one of the finest international film festivals the world over. The ALIIF is the flagship event of the Indywood Film carnival and has introduced some notable films including one that later won the Oscar.
