The novel, ‘The White Tiger,’ by Aravind Adiga provides a dark humorous perspective of India’s class struggle in a globalized world told through the life of Balram Halwai, the protagonist of the story in first person narrative. The novel details the story of the main protagonist, a village boy, journey of redemption from regression and suppression starting from his relocation to Delhi, where Balram works as a chauffeur to a rich landlord, and then finally to Bangalore, where Balram flees after killing his master and stealing all the money. The novel written in a series of letters over a period of seven nights is addressed to Wen Jiabao, the Premier of China, who was due to visit Bangalore, in a week’s time.
