The National Quantum mission, the mission planned for 2023-31, aims to seed, nurture and scale up scientific and industrial R&D and create a vibrant and innovative ecosystem in Quantum Technology.
With the launch of the mission, India will join the Elite Club of six other nations that have dedicated Quantum missions; that is the U.S., Canada, France, Finland, China and Australia. It could be a game changer in multiple sectors, from defense, energy and environment to health care and civil applications.
Quantum material
Quantum materials are a class of matter or systems that allow us to exploit some of the unique properties of quantum physics and accomplish tasks that classical technology is incapable of.
The concept was originally introduced to identify some exotic Quantum systems including unconventional superconductors, heavy fermions systems and multi-functional oxide.
