Custard is a mixture of sugar, milk and corn flour, but when you get it naturally it is called custard apple. An indigenous fruit of tropical region, custard apple is cultivated worldwide. The fruit is known by different names like sugar apple, sweet-sop or sugar-pineapple.

   The fruit is commonly known as sitaphal in Indian dialects. A family member of annonaceae, the tree can be easily grown in any neglected conditions. This short tree does not specially need any care or attention in bringing-up. They grow easily in almost all types of climatic conditions and all types of soils. The custard apple does best in low-lying, deep, rich soil with ample moisture and good drainage.
