In a world where mobile phones and the internet appear to be inseparable aspects of human existence, the term startup ceases to be alien to many. It is undoubtedly the ‘in-thing’.
Interestingly, the thought of being associated with corporates or other established organisations for more than a decade also seems to be fading away. Most youngsters today gear up to be their own bosses, run firms that are truly theirs in the hope of becoming the next Steve Jobs, Bill Gates or the likes. To me, it is something one ought to be proud of.
However, the journey isn’t always a cake walk nor is it worthy of a biography or a column in the editorial section of a business daily. Why? For reasons that are often unknown. Then again, there is often a side in the world of entrepreneurship that many tend to turn a blind-eye.
