If we have freedom today, we owe it to the people who fought for India’s independence. Over the years, many battles have taken place, led by many heroes, which have changed the course of India’s history. One such freedom fighter was Rani Chennamma who is an epitome of courage and bravery. We at GV, are proud to honour and remember one of the bravest Indian women freedom fighters.
We hope that every citizen draws inspiration from her strength, valour, determination and sense of justice. Rani Kittur Chennamma, the Queen of Kittur, was one of the first Indian rulers to lead an armed rebellion against the British East India Company in 1824, against the implementation of the Doctrine of Lapse.
