A fruit of Indonesian origin, this fruit is now popular in the Indian subcontinent. The plant is often dubbed in scientific world as Phaleria macrocarpa. The tree is originally found in the tropical forests of New Guinea, Indonesia and grows in tropical areas. The tree is evergreen in nature and grows densely up to 1200 m from main sea level.
