We are all familiar with PepsiCo’s CEO Indra Nooyi’s speech where she said women are not doing enough to help each other at work. She pointed out that while men appreciate feedback and criticism from each other, women always look for undercurrents of jealousy or one-up-man-ship when other women offer feedback about their work.
The reasons why women don’t help other women at the workplace could be many, ranging from the Queen Bee syndrome, where a woman in power doesn’t want another woman encroaching upon the territory she has earned with great struggle, to just a lackadaisical attitude, or maybe they are genuinely too busy for that, with their hands already full with official as well as domestic duties. However, there are several ways in which women can empower other women at work. Maybe the environment in which the older women pursued their careers (they were almost always at the receiving end of gender bias) made them turn....
