Narayanagiri hills are one of the lesser known mountain peaks in Karnataka. Narayanagiri is a monolith located at around 76 km from Bangalore. The Narayangiri hills lies on Jalamangala village which is around 20 Kms from Ramnagara and is famously known for the boulders and vast number of caves.
Ramanagara is where the famous blockbuster movie Sholay was shot. This mountain is 3800 feet in height and has some very interesting things for everyone to explore. Atop the hill is the Laxmi-Narayana temple, with an exterior of shiny black granite. The temple is open only on Saturdays and is accessible via an irregular footpath in the lower parts and rough steps, hewn on the stone rock face in the upper reaches.
