The Indian Navy achieved a significant milestone as the guided missile destroyer INS Mormugao successfully conducted its maiden firing of a Brahmos Supersonic cruise missile. The firing, which resulted in hitting the ‘Bulls Eye,’ showcased the Navy’s self-reliance and enhanced firepower at sea. INS Mormugao, named after the historic port city of Goa, has been a remarkable addition to India’s naval fleet since its first sea sortie in December 2021. INS Mormugao, measuring 163 meters in length and 17 meters in breadth, is a formidable warship constructed in India. With a displacement of 7400 tonnes, it stands as one of the most potent naval vessels.
