Living in the present moment means that your awareness is completely centred on the here and now. But you often let the present slip away, allowing time to jog past unnoticed squandering the precious seconds of your lives as you worry about the future and the past.
Tomorrow is only a concept,the future is always waiting to come around the corner, but time is always in the now. When you live in the present, you are living where life is, happening. The past and future are illusions, they don’t exist. Most of you don’t undertake your thoughts in awareness, but it is your thoughts that control you.
Anchoring awareness in the here and now reduces these kinds of impulsivity and reactivity behaviours. When you are living in the present, you are living in acceptance; you are accepting life as it is in the present, and not as how you wish it would have been in the future.
