In a major boost to the privately spearheaded space travel endeavour, a re-usable space vehicle designed and built by the space enterprise, Blue Origin, promoted by the internet tycoon and Amazon co-founder, Jeff Bezos, had its successful flight-test in late November 2015. The flawless mission of this innovative space vehicle which made a smooth landing back to earth after touching an altitude of 100-km, has been claimed to be a break-through for Blue Origin in its quest to turn space travel into a routine and affordable affair.

    According to media reports, this unmanned New Shepard rocket took off from a launch site in West Texas and on completion of the mission returned and landed safely. Moments after this landmark space mission, an ebullient Bezos noted, “Rockets have always been expendable. Not any more”.
