History and heritage are a part of each person no matter where he or she lives or travels. History and heritage make the character and culture of a country. India being so vast and diversified, it has many gems that require conservation and attraction of tourists to make them well known across the world.
There are many cities in the world that have ancient roots and have become well known tourist spots - Venice, Machu Pichu, Rome, Angkor Vat, Seville, Cordoba, Berne, etc., with the encouragement of the countrys’ government. In 2015 India has also launched a similar program of National Heritage Development. This is a push towards creating a well developed heritage city with complete urban planning, economic growth and heritage conservation. This will preserve the character of the Heritage City and also become hotspots for the tourists.
