What lends distinction to an institution is how it identifies with people it is associated with and the way it reaches out to the community around. As an academic institution in this context, the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology, Gandhinagar (IITGN) has remained in the forefront in wading through uncharted waters.
Apart from the academic and extra-curricular rigour for all its students, IITGN has also dedicated itself to community outreach programmes that are inspired by the feeling of empathy for people around it. Thus was born what is called NYASA, an informal school initiative taken by the faculty and the students of IITGN dating back to 2011. The Sanskrit word NYASA means trust and the institute has truly extended its trustworthy hands to the children of migrant construction workers in and around the campus.
