Students of the National Institute of Design (NID), Ahmedabad are a breed apart as far as designs go. The campus remains abuzz with students immersed in what is ‘design thinking’ that is inspired by empathy. Design thinking, also called Human Centred Design, entails a process, mindset and approach to creating solutions that make an impact.

   It aims at designing effective and impactful solutions to challenges that people face, inspiring an individual or team to design products, services or systems that could address the core needs of those who face the problem. It’s an approach to finding solutions to problems commonly used in design and engineering frameworks that develop solutions to problems involving the human prospective by focusing on the users, their needs and requirements and also by applying human factors.
