Even after 75 years of independence the scrutiny about the status of women in Indian society presents various deplorable pictures before us. Studies show that the age of adolescence brings a lot of change in the human body. This phase requires a very balanced diet with wholesome nutrition for both boys and girls. However, in our society, women are traditionally discriminated against and excluded from the authority of making their own decision. So, it is obvious that they are unable to achieve a sufficient and balanced diet.
Due to patriarchal society a boy child of the family is given relatively more nutritional food than a girl. For the girls the nutritional intake is inferior to the boys. Especially when the family is unable to provide food for all of the children, the girls have to compromise with their nutrition.
