Jawaharlal Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research, Pondicherry, is one of the oldest medical institutes in India established by French Government as “Ecole de Medicine de Pondichery” in 1823. In 1956 it was taken over by the Government of India and subsequently renamed as Jawaharlal Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research.
