Steve Jobs, the legendary inventor of iPhone and iPad, to name only a few, has been portrayed as a mercurial and brash genius, who could also be extremely likable if he wanted! His authorised biography (Steve Jobs) by Isaacson, which came out shortly after his death in 2011, gave a remarkable insight into the workings of the pioneer, but the book is criticised as being one-dimensional and rather unfair to the human qualities of Jobs.
In fact, `Jobs did not wish to go through the manuscript prior to its publication; he only wanted to have a say on its cover! Most recently, Jobs has been reappraised in a book, Being Steve Jobs: The Evolution of a reckless upstart into a visionary leader, authored by Brent Schlender and Rick Tetzel. The book seeks to correct what Mr Tim Cook, currently CEO of Apple, calls a tremendous disservice to Jobs done by Isaacson.
