What is adrishta? The etymological meaning of adrishta is that which is unseen. We come across many people who are intelligent and hardworking. But they don’t attain the same degree of success in life.
In fact, at times, the least intelligent and diligent one amongst them achieves a success not commensurate with his abilities. What is this anomaly due to? We attribute it to his good luck.
We say that the Lady Luck has favoured him. Is it really so? According to Indian philosophy, every body’s birth is the precise outcome of his or her past karma, which is unseen or unperceived in this life, i.e., adrishta. Everyone gets the parents, family and environment he or she deserves in life according to his or her prarabdha.
