During the International Paris Air show held in Paris in June this year, Dr.Srinivasan Dwarakanath, Airbus India Managing Director, revealed that India’s resurgent civil aviation market is all poised to grow at a rate of more than 10% per annum. “India will be one of the top aviation markets globally in the next twenty years. It is already one of the fastest growing markets,” explained Dwarakanath. He was clear that to sustain the growth of its civil aviation sector, India would need to double its aircraft fleet even if one per cent more of the country’s population takes to air travel.”
Indeed, the Indian civil aviation policy lays emphasis on boosting regional air connectivity in the country by bringing in small towns and remotely situated locations into the fast expanding air map of the country.
