M.M.Roy, one of the pioneer ventriloquists of India, was an active practitioner of his art until well into his 70’s. He had been a spellbinder on stage for years on end, until he was paralyzed and crippled in a motorcycle accident in his 60’s.

   He rallied remarkably by his willpower and the passionate love of his art, like Ms. Sudha Chandran, the noted danseuse-turned-film actress, did from her permanent disability caused by a heart-rending road accident. It was a remarkable and delightful coincidence that these two had acted and performed in the 13-episode hit serial, Assathal Angal (Perfect Persons), telecast over Jaya TV in 1995.
