The boundary problems within the nations and amongst the nations, especially the territorial ones, have started emerging as major issues of global concern. Kachcha Theevu located between India and Sri Lanka is one such major issue, as the said island, which originally belonged to Ramnad kingdom, was handed over to Sri Lanka by India in 1974.

   Since then, not only the use of Kachcha theevu for berthing the boats and drying the fishing nets have become nightmare for the Indian fishermen community, but also even fishing in its vicinity is causing dangers to their life and livelihood from the Sri Lankan side.

   So it is an urgent issue to be sorted out. It is not known that, on what ground, India has handed over Kachcha theevu to Sri Lanka. But from the historical and the scientific points of view ,India appears to have more rights on the island .The surface geological processes inferred from the Indian Remote Sensing satellite....
