Tom Cruise is worth US $480 million and he is the third richest actor on the planet. (Shah Rukh Khan with US $600 million comes second). Cruise is 51 years old (it is finally showing) and has been at the wicket for a long innings from 1981. But he just refuses to die, like the character (Major Bill Cage) he plays in “Edge of Tomorrow” (2014), a futuristic sci fi movie. Thrown much against his will into a fierce battle with octopus-like aliens called Mimics who can play weird mind-altering games as part of their war strategy, Cage dies ten minutes into the film. Yes, the hero dies soon as the movie begins! But it’s like the proverbial coward’s death. He will die many times in this movie much like our video game avatar whom we resurrect every time he dies to start the game where we left off.
