The “rent a womb” business continues to thrive in India with many poverty stricken women coming forward to serve as “surrogate mothers” for a fee. And the alluring promise of delivery through surrogacy are being dangled to barren couples by means of enticing ads in the print and electronic media and attractive offer on exclusive portals to colourful posters and pamphlets as well as nicely packaged publicity stuff displayed on ubiquitous auto rickshaws.

   Not surprisingly then India’s emergence as a “Mecca of Surrogacy” for childless couples on the lookout for getting progeny is now globally recognised.
