Rohit Bal took the audience on a whimsical journey for the finale of WIFW S/S 2015, as models walked on a runway created at the majestic Quli Khan Tomb, in the shadows of the Qutub Minar in Mehrauli. M.A.C India’s global senior artist Sonic Sarwate weaved his magic backstage to create a look to compliment Bal’s regal collection, where gold and ivory shone in imperial splendour.

   “Since the whole collection was inspired by Gulbaag, Kashmir and the Mughal era, we decided to go for really dark kohled eyes like they wore back then and the roses were a perfect adaptation to complete the look,” says Sarwate. Blooming red roses adorned the hair, slightly bronzed faces glowed with clean smoky eyes without any kohl on the waterline and the lips had a naturaltoned pucker. It was a perfect match for the gold tones in Bal’s creations.
