The Earth is getting warmer. Its weather health is poor, which makes its plant, animal and human inhabitants’ health poorer too. The latter’s health miseries due to climate change include respiratory and cardiovascular diseases; food and water borne illnesses; infectious diseases; and mental health disorders apart from others. It is no wonder that the United Nations (UN) has been holding its annual Climate Change Conference (CCC) for the 20th year in a row. This year’s CCC was held in Lima, Peru, from December 1 to 12, 2014 and was attended by 195 countries. Next year, the CCC will be held in Paris, France from 30 November to 11 December, 2015. The CCC 2014’s mission is decidedly to limit global temperature rise due to greenhouse gas emissions (GHGs) to 2 degrees Celsius above current levels in the coming years.
