Autism. Check. Paraplegic. Check. Down’s Syndrome. Check. Deaf and mute. Check. Spina bifida. Check.

  But none of these were a deterrent to their expression of their deepest thoughts, emotions and feelings through art.

   The 5th and 6th of March saw the coming together of over 25 such artists in Bengaluru’s Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath where over 150 pieces of art were on display. Curated by renowned paraplegic artist Sravani Ramachandran and her sister Padmaja Ramachandran, and titled Art From The Heart by Pragati, the exhibition had a variety of art showcased by artists in their teens to seniors.

  Filled with the vibrancy of colours, the gallery was graced by several eminent personalities including director Saad Khan; artist and greatgreat granddaughter of Raja Ravi Varma, Radhika Hormusjee; famous speed artist Vilas Nayak; and, commissioner for rural development of Karnataka, Shilpa Nag.
