In the wake of the wily Coronavirus, science has gone into overdrive. Exhausted by the massive scale of COVID-19 challenge, scientists and researchers from a broad range of disciplines are engaged in finding ways of containing the infection.
And the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology, Gandhinagar (IITGN) too joined the race. It has always raised the bar in imparting education and contribute towards modern day research, going beyond the confines of brick and mortar.
The research idea was quite novel in that it aims at containing the spread of the virus through surfaces. It was jointly undertaken by professors from the faculty of Materials Engineering and Ph.D. research students of both Materials Engineering and Biological Engineering.
Interestingly, together they have developed an antiviral surface coating which is highly effective, environment friendly and also transparent.
