Yet another International Women’s Day (IWD) is approaching. It falls on Monday, March 8, the date reserved to celebrate womanhood all over the world, every year. For some, the day is for celebration, but for others, still, the day is the symbol of the fight against gender incongruousness. The day aims to call for celebrating the achievements done by women, re-ignites the call for gender equality and create awareness for the women about gender parity. IWD asserts the importance of uniting the women, irrespective of cultural, economic, and social difference to achieve equality.

   Gender parity is one of the tools for researchers to assess a society, whether it is progressing or regressing in a particular time frame. They analyse the difference that women face in social-economic-cultural-political fields compared to their male counterparts.
