Organic means

Organic food comprises of

(1) agricultural products and

(2) livestock reared for meat, eggs and dairy products.

   The term “organic” refers to the way agricultural products are grown and processed. Organic crops should be grown without the use of synthetic pesticides, Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) or genetically engineered (GE) foods, petroleum-based fertilizers and sewage sludge-based fertilizers.

   Organic livestock nurtured for meat, eggs and dairy products should have access to the outdoors and be given organic feed. They should not be given antibiotics and growth hormones.
